You heard that tones are the most important thing when you learn Mandarin, but traditionally, people over-emphasize tone when teaching Mandari. Tone is important, but not important as you think. Fluid speech is what matters the most.. When speaking with flow, people do not recogonize each individual tone.
Native speakers don’t pronounce every word perfectly, and you don’t have to either! Through repetition and exposure, you will improve your speed and learn when and where the language can be smudged a bit: one of the keys to more native-sounding speech.
We’ll review some essentials, but tones may not be as important as you think! Native speakers will understand you within context, and being understood will help build up your confidence. Speaking fluidly is what matters most!
It can be hard to spot our own problems in pronunciation; if it were easy, we could just fix them on our own. It’s vital to connect with a professional tutor in order to identify and target your specific needs.
We provide visual demonstrations and exercises to help you mimic perfect lip movement and tongue placement for authentic pronunciation.
